چکیده

Data acquired by GOLF experiment onboard SOHO during 20 months has been analysed. GOLF is a disk-integrated sunlight experiment therefore biased to observe very low`modes (` 3). However the excellent ratio signal to background (S=B) achieved permits also the detection of some modes with 4 ` 6 and those from n 8 up to the cut-oo frequency and even beyond with the pseudomodes signal. Due to the nature of the excitation function of the modes (which we will call noise) the line shapes look "spiky" rising the possibility (the necessity?) to use several methods of analysis of such data: a) FFT spectrum and maximum likelihood tting technique, b) averaged FFT spectra of subseries and least squares tting technique, c) HD spectra and least squares t. Moreover, as a consequence of the characteristics of the spectrum: 1 S=B 10 4 , linewidths of 0:1 ? 40Hz and the presence of noise, several t strategies have to be deened in order to t appropriately and accurately the mode line shapes. In this poster these methods and t strategies will be explained and comparative results will be presented.

LOW-DEGREE LOW-ORDER SOLAR p MODES AS SEEN BY GOLF ON BOARD SOHO

Data recovered from the GOLF experiment on board the ESA/NASA SOHO spacecraft have been used to analyze the low-order low-degree solar velocity acoustic-mode spectrum below ν = 1.5 mHz (i.e., 1 ≤ n ≤ 9, l ≤ 2). Various techniques (periodogram, RLAvCS, homomorphicdeconvolution and RLSCSA) have been used and compared to avoid possible biases due to a given analysis method. In this work, the acous...

Variations of the solar granulation motions with height using the GOLF / SoHO experiment

Context. Below 1 mHz, the power spectrum of helioseismic velocity measurements is dominated by the spectrum of convective motions (granulation and supergranulation) making it difficult to detect the low-order acoustic modes and the gravity modes. Aims. We want to better understand the behavior of solar granulation as a function of the observing height in the solar atmosphere and with magnetic a...

The Solar Acoustic Spectrum as Seen by Golf . Iv

The model tted to the observed spectra by GOLF allows the measurement of the linewidth and power of each mode (see Roca Cort es et al., 1998). The linewidths are related to the damping mechanisms and the energies give information on the excitation mechanisms of the modes. Here the results of these parameters as well as the relative energy shared by the components of a given multiplet are presen...

Mode visibilities in radial velocity and photometric Sun-as-a-star helioseismic observations⋆

We analyze more than 5000 days of high-quality Sun-as-a-star, radial velocity GOLF and photometric VIRGO/SPM helioseismic observations to extract precise estimates of the visibilities of the low-degree p modes and the m-height ratios of the l = 2 and 3 multiplets in the solar acoustic spectrum. The mode visibilities are shown to be larger during the GOLF red-wing configuration than during the b...

Power spectra comparison between GOLF and spatially masked MDI velocity signals

The Global Oscillations at Low Frequency (GOLF) and the Michelson Doppler Imager (MDI) instruments aboard the Solar and Heliospheric Observatory (SOHO) give an excellent opportunity to search for solar low frequency oscillation modes previously undetected from ground based experiments. Presented here is a comparison of the velocity power spectra between the two instruments. In addition, this pa...
